Qatar Airways is the flag carrier of Qatar and is headquartered in the Qatar Airways Tower in Doha. The airline has a fleet of over 100 aircrafts and flies to over 100 destinations worldwide. To join the privilege club you need to acquire at least 50 points to join the burgundy class. The other two higher classes are silver and gold. The higher the class of membership the more privileges a member can enjoy. The pints are acquired on the route you fly and the class in which you travel. If you earn 10 points on a flight traveling in economy, you will earn 15 points in business class and 20 points in first class. The points are calculated annually for the miles traveled between January and December every year.

Burgundy members enjoy the following awards which are last minute benefits and extra baggage allowance. You can claim the award for yourself, and your family members or friends. You can qualify for a last minute award by booking a flight a week in advance or 48 hours in advance online. You get a 10kg extra baggage allowance on all flights except on transatlantic flights. You get priority on the waiting list.

As a silver member you get all the privileges of a burgundy member plus your baggage allowance increases to 15kg and you get priority check-in at the business class counter. You also get free access to the Silver Lounge in Doha and to business class lounges at certain destinations. Also you get 50% more points as a member of Silver Club.

As a gold member your privileges increase. You are guaranteed an economy class seat even if the flight is fully booked. Your extra baggage allowance increases to 20kg. The points you earn are doubled as a gold club member. You get to enjoy the facilities of the Oryx lounge at Doha and of business class lounges at select airports.

Qatar Airways also offers a number of privileges for all its Privilege Club members in collaboration with hotels and car rental companies at a number of destinations. There are a number of additional benefits that can be earned by family members as well as well as points. You can gift or receive a gift of traveled miles which will decrease or increase your points.
